Dr Nhlanhla Msomi is the President of AfricaBio, Chairperson: Next Biosciences, and is a member of the Board of Governors of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. Nhlanhla has had a varied career spanning R&D, academia, innovation management, policy work, corporate finance, and entrepreneurship. He currently also serves as the Director of Innovation and Commercialisation at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Dr. Msomi graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Genetic Engineering from Sussex University (UK) and holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology specialising in Molecular Genetics from the University of Natal. He has also most recently completed his postgraduate studies in Strategy and Innovation at Oxford University (Said Business School).
