Rashid Ansumana

Prof. Rashid Ansumana is a distinguished academic and public health expert with a strong focus on infectious diseases and One Health research. He has been instrumental in shaping policies on diseases like Lassa fever and Ebola, and has played a key role in pandemic preparedness efforts worldwide. His research has significantly influenced public health policies and practices, particularly during the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone and the COVID-19 pandemic. Prof. Ansumana’s contributions extend beyond Sierra Leone, as he has been a Principal Investigator for the West African One Health Consortium, fostering collaboration across multiple countries. His dedication to research capacity-building in Africa has also been commendable, supervising postgraduate and doctoral researchers and securing funding for laboratory expansion.
